The mission and purpose of Alton Community Services is to provide relief to the poor, the distressed or underprivileged throughout Alton and the surrounding area by meeting their physical and spiritual needs through the provision of food, clothing, furniture or referral services to other charitable organizations, local churches and federal, state and local government sponsored assistance programs.
The generosity of the businesses and residents in Alton in 2025 were so very much appreciated, especially in November and December. The amount of food and monetary donations was incredible. A VERY sincere thank you to everyone.
Enter 2026 and food insecurity is an ongoing issue every month of the year, so we appreciate your continued support.
During these cold winter months, please do not leave food donations outside the building as they will freeze and cannot be distributed to clients. Please note that the building where we are located is typically open for drop-offs from 11am-3pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
As Alton Community Services continues to help those in need of assistance, we wish to thank the following establishments for allowing our Alton Food Pantry donation box to grace their counter: Alton Circle Store, Alton Village Pizza, Alton Home and Lumber, Aubuchon Hardware, and Alton Village Store & Gas. Their willingness to help us help the community makes us happy.
